Gloria Hayes will be honored for her impact on generations of Milford children and families this week. Honorary chairs Jim Amann and Tom Ivers and other local officials will be in attendance to thank Hayes for her 40 years of service as executive director of the Good Shepherd Child Development Center. The story of growth from one room in a local church staffed by volunteers to a $4.8 million facility with 25 teachers designed for infants, toddlers and preschoolers will be told. Families whose children have benefitted from the early childhood education services at Good Shepherd will also be present to tell their stories of how Hayes helped their children. The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Costa Azzurra Restaurant, 72 Broadway.
