The Boys & Girls Club of Milford will host the First Annual Boys & Girls Club Dodgeball Tournament. The double elimination tournament will take place March 1 at the Boys & Girls Club Clubhouse at 14 Benham Avenue. Championship belts will be awarded to the top teams in the tournament. Mulligans will be available for purchase for each game. Doors will open at 6 p.m., tournament games will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is suggested at $5, kids under 16 are free. Raffles and food will be available for purchase throughout the evening. The Boys & Girls Club Torch Club members will be running the concession stands. "This tournament is the first of its kind for the club and all involved are extremely excited," said Jorge Santiago, president of the Board of Directors for the club. "The club looks forward to hosting the community for an evening full of friendly competition and fun, complete with championship belts." Teams can range in size from 6 to 10 players, each team member must be 16 years or older. Registered team members will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a meal voucher. Team entry fee is $250. "This will be a great opportunity for the club members to interact with the community." The tournament is supported by Milford Bank. The Boys & Girls Club currently runs a variety of programs integral to the growth and development of Milford's youth, most notably: Money Matters, Torch Club, Healthy Eating, and Image Makers Photography. Future plans include implementing a program specifically dedicated to the teens, as well as a summer program for youth ages 6-16.
