After they\u00a0couldn't pick a winner when they met in the regular season, it might be fitting that the Darien Blue Wave and Staples Wreckers will meet in the\u00a0opening round of the FCIAC boys soccer playoffs. The match will be carried live on the HAN Network Thursday, Oct. 29, at 3:30. Darien will host the match\u00a0in the FCIAC postseason pay-per-view event.\u00a0The Blue Wave secured the No. 2 seed in the tournament on Monday with a 3-1 win over Trumbull, knocking the Eagles out of the eight-team postseason tournament. The two teams played to a 2-2 draw on Oct. 8 this season \u2014 thanks to\u00a0Darien's Sam Pfommer's goal with just five seconds remaining in regulation. Staples had gone up by a goal nine minutes earlier thanks to Graham Gudis's penalty kick. Last season, Darien knocked Staples out of the\u00a0Class LL state quarterfinals.
