MILFORD — A teenage suspect in a December armed carjacking was apprehended Monday, according to local police.

Nathan  Akinola, 18, was charged with first-degree robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit, Milford police said. He was held on $200,000 bond and appeared in state Superior Court in Milford following his arrest, police said.

Milford officers responded to a Maple Street address around 7 p.m. Dec. 3 for a report of an armed robbery, according to police. The victim told officers the suspect was a male who had arrived on foot to check out a car the victim had listed for sale on the online marketplace OfferUp, police said.

While the victim and the suspect were discussing the price of the car after a test drive, the suspect displayed a black semiautomatic pistol, according to police. Pressing the barrel against the victim’s head, police said, he ordered the victim to exit the car. Once alone in the car, the suspect fled east on Maple Street, police said.

Investigators found Akinola in possession of the car on Dec. 15, according to police. Following an investigation, Akinola was identified as a suspect in the carjacking, police said. He was taken into custody at a Bridgeport probation office.
