NEW HAVEN — Yale New Haven Hospital’s Rehabilitation and Wellness Center recently earned the 2017 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for patient experience, according to a release.

“The center was recognized for achieving patient satisfaction scores above the 95th percentile each month during fiscal year 2017,” the release said.

Yale New Haven Hospital leases space from Milford Hospital and the he 24-bed center opened in 2015, the release said.

“Patients are cared for by a variety of physician specialists, including physiatrists, who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation,” according to the release. “Many of the center’s 60 staff members came from Yale New Haven and Bridgeport hospitals and include nurses certified in rehabilitation, along with physical, occupational and speech therapists with advanced skills.”

The center offers one-on-one, intensive therapy for patients from throughout the region with neurological disorders, trauma, limb loss, joint replacements and other conditions, the release said.

The Press Ganey “is a national provider of patient experience measurement, performance analytics and strategic advisory solutions for healthcare organization,” release noted.
