WOODBRIDGE >> The Woodbridge Democratic Caucus unanimously endorsed the following slate of candidates for the Town election on Monday, May 4:

• First Selectman: Ellen Scalettar;

• Board of Selectmen: Laurence Grotheer, Beth Heller, and Susan L. Jacobs;

• Woodbridge Board of Education: Margaret Hamilton and Emily B. Melnick;

• Amity Board of Education: Sheila McCreven and Thomas Handler;

• Board of Assessment Appeals: Claire Coleman;

• Zoning Board of Appeals: David Speranzini;

• Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate: Arlene Levine.

At the caucus, First Selectman Ellen Scalettar, running for re-election, thanked the caucus members for their confidence in her and congratulated her fellow candidates, with whom she said it is an honor to run.

Scalettar said she expected a hard-fought campaign and that the Democratic team was well-positioned for victory.

“Our team has integrity, intelligence, experience, determination and a strong record to run on. It doesn’t get much better than that,” she said.
