William Meddick shows art at Orange Library

Painter William Meddick, Milford’s former art center director, will be exhibiting his oil paintings at the Case Memorial Library in the 2nd floor art gallery, 176 Tyler City Road, Orange, from March 6 to 29 with a public opening reception on Thursday, March 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

All of his works are done with direct observation of the subject matter, ranging from landscapes, still lifes and figures within interiors. Meddick studied painting at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y., and was an apprentice scenic painter at Atlas Scenic Studios, Norwalk.

He has exhibited widely throughout region and currently serves on the board of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club in New Haven.

Hours for the Case Memorial Library are: Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
