Shoppers stand in line outside of the entrance to Sam's Club in Orange on Jan. 14. The store is slated to close at the end of the month.

Just about a week after news broke that Sam’s Club would be closing stores in Orange and Manchester, the wholesale warehouse is sending letters outlining next steps for members.

“Serving you and the community has been a great pleasure, and we thank you for being a loyal Sam’s Club member. As our valued Sam’s Club member, you’ll still be our number one priority and will have many ways to shop and save with us,” writes Taylor Duersch, vice president Member Strategy.

The Bentonville, Arkansas-based company, which is a subsidiary of retail giant Walmart, told the Connecticut Department of Labor on Jan. 11 it will close two locations later this month, leaving 306 people out of work.

The closest remaining locations will be on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington and Horseblock Road in Medford, NY the letter says.

“Closing a Sam’s Club location is not any easy decision and we understand the impact it has not just on our members, but our Associates as well. Just as we are committed to you, we are doing everything we can to assist our Associates in finding other employment opportunities.

We look forward to continue serving you online at SamsClub.com and at our other Sam’s Club locations. Questions? Feel free to contact Member Services at 1-888-746-7726,” Duersch writes.

The bulk of the double-sided, one-page document addresses recipients in a Q&A format. Here is the information verbatim:
