Watch: Norwalk Oyster Festival kicks off this weekend
The HAN Network's cruiser pulled into to Norwalk's Veterans Park last Friday, in preparation for this weekend's Norwalk Oyster Festival.
Mike Reilly, the chairman and trustee of the festival spoke with Kate Czaplinski about the attractions, live entertainment, food and family fun planned for this year's 38th annual event. It kicks-off this Friday, Sept. 11 evening and runs all day Saturday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Sept 13, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
HAN also captured some drone footage of the beautiful park that will be hosting the popular event, organized by the Norwalk Seaport Association.

This year’s live entertainment line-up includes national acts John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band on Friday, Dennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX on Saturday and on Sunday, Smash Mouth. Many local and regional musicians will also perform throughout the weekend.
Rides, food, family entertainment and much more are also a big draw of the event.
Admission for adults is $10 on Friday, $12 on Saturday and Sunday. Children 5-12 years old are $5. U.S. military personnel on active duty are free. All entertainment is included in ticket prices. Tickets can be purchased at seaport.org.
The Norwalk Seaport Association was founded in 1978 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, education and public awareness of Norwalk’s maritime environment and heritage. The Seaport Association and its volunteers are solely responsible for organizing and financing the Oyster Festival. In addition to the Oyster Festival, the Norwalk Seaport Association owns Sheffield Lighthouse and its volunteers maintain the lighthouse and grounds as a museum and nature preserve.
