Trick or Trot run — The 3rd Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Beth-El Center will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25. Sign in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. from Lisman Landing in Downtown Milford. Wear a Halloween costume. Fee is $25 per person for advanced registration/$30 same day. Walking tour — The Milford Historical Society will sponsor its second walking tour of the Borough of Woodmont on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. as part of its ongoing observances of Milford’s 375th Anniversary. Participants are asked to meet at the Adam’s Parking Lot, 1391 New Haven Avenue. The Milford Bank will provide water for the walkers. Jewelry show — A Jewelry Trunk Show will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Gilded Lily at 101 River Street. Halloween at SportsCenter — The Young Parent Program will host its annual Family Halloween Event on Sunday, Oct. 26, from noon to 2 p.m. at the SportsCenter of Connecticut, 784 River Road, Shelton, rain or shine. Participants may play miniature golf while trick-or-treating, enjoy the batting cage, ice skating or fun bowl, or use free tokens in the game zone. Costume contest too.

Witch parade — For the 8th year in a row the Walnut Beach Witch will appear on Halloween. The event, hosted by the Walnut Beach Business Association, begins at 5 p.m. near the corner of Naugatuck Avenue and Broadway. The Walnut Beach Creamery will be giving away ice cream to anyone who comes in costume while supplies last. A DJ, face painter and fortune teller will be there between 5 and 7 p.m. At 6 p.m. the Walnut Beach Witch appears in the doorway of the Walnut Beach Creamery to lead a spooky parade around the block with local businesses giving away candy. Bring a bell to scare away the bad spirits. Have your picture taken with the Walnut Beach Witch. The event is free. Kerry Boys — The Kerry Boys have performed at countless fairs and Irish festivals around the Northeast, and will perform at the Milford Fine Arts Council Oct. 31. Wear a costume to be entered in a costume contest. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Stratford church fair — The 27th Annual Treasures, Treats & Trinkets Fair, sponsored by the Stratford Women’s Club, at Stratford’s United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford, Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forty-one vendors exhibiting crafts and new items, and a bake sale.
