Coffeehouse — The Milford Arts Council Performance Coffeehouse will present Sheri Miller on Friday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for Milford Fine Arts Council members and $20 for non-members. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Snacks, beer and wine will be available for a nominal charge. The coffee is free. For tickets, call 203-878-6647. Garlic festival — The Milford Recreation Department’s Benson-Crump Memorial Community Gardens Program will hold its Autumn Garlic Festival in the gazebo on the Milford Green in downtown Milford on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 28 .
Harvest fair — Woodmont United Church of Christ, 1000 New Haven Avenue, will have its Annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, Sept. 27, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be area artisans and crafters (10 x 10 spaces are available for $30.) Tag, bake sale — The public is invited to the Saint Ann Parish Tag & Bake Sale on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the parish grounds, 499 Naugatuck Avenue. Tag sale inventory includes treasures from the kitchen, treasures from the attic and treasures from the garage. Baked items too. Historical church tour — There will be a tour and talk on the history of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 34 West Main St., on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. sponsored by the church’s 375th Anniversary Committee. Oktoberfest — The Devon Rotary Club will hold its 26th Annual Milford Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 27 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Rotary Pavilion at Fowler Field behind the Milford Public Library. German foods, including schnitzel, bratwurst and potato pancakes, alongside American cuisine prepared by local vendors including Joey C’s, Brats on a Bun, Fire Dog and the Spud Truck. More than 15 specialty Oktoberfest and related brews, on tap.

Mineral lecture — At Milford Library on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., Art Doyle and Bob Daniels of the New Haven Mineral Club will speak about the rich geological history of Connecticut. The presentation will focus on the formation of minerals and fossils in the state. Free and open to the public.

Hospital tea party — The Milford Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual Scholarship Tea on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Milford Yacht Club. Trick or Trot run — The 3rd Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Beth-El Center will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25.
