The United Way of Milford will hold its 2014 campaign kickoff Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Subway World Headquarters, 325 Bic Drive.
Residents are invited to attend. There will be hot and cold appetizers, beer and wine.
Attendees also will hear details about the United Way campaign in Milford, and meet some of the people who volunteer to help raise funds for the agency.
The United Way supports a number of community non-profit groups, which have been struggling in recent years due to the economy and budget cuts.
Last year’s United Way campaign fell somewhat short of its goal and volunteers are hoping to make their goal this year.
The campaign goal will be announced at the kick-off event.
Participants may bring a box of diapers, which will be donated to people in need.
