MILFORD — The Milford Fine Arts Council Performance Coffeehouse will resume its 2010-2011 season with Iona on Friday, Jan. 28, at 8 p.m., at the Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Ave.

Iona’s music is a unique blend of the traditional music of Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Cornwall, Brittany, The Isle of Man, Spain and America. In addition to traditional Celtic material, Iona shows are known for original acoustic arrangements and a lively, entertaining style.

Formed in 1986, Iona has become one of leading Celtic groups in the Mid-Atlantic region. The members of Iona are all seasoned performers who involve audiences with the history and cultural backgrounds of their music — Barbara Ryan (vocals, bouzouki, bodhran and guitar); Bernard Argent (winds); Jim Queen (banjo, vocals) and Chuck Lawhorn (bass guitar).

Don’t miss what is sure to be an exciting night that will shake off the winter blues! Tickets for Iona are $10 — enjoy an exciting live performance in a friendly, intimate environment for less than the cost of a movie! Snacks, beer and wine will be available for a nominal charge. The coffee is always free!
