Trick or Trot event raised $11,250 for homeless shelter

The Milford Trick or Trot committee presented a check in the amount of $11,250 to the Milford Beth-El Center.

Milford Trick or Trot is comprised of representatives from the law firm of Harlow, Adams & Friedman, P.C. and Sikorsky Credit Union. They hosted their first Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 27 to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness and hunger.

The event was a tremendous success, attracting over 300 runners and walkers, organizers said.

To add to the festivities, all were encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. The run/walk covered a scenic route through the back roads of Milford past Fort Trumbull Beach and Milford Harbor.  Breakfast was available for all who attended, along with live music provided by The Elwoods, a local rock n’ blues band.

Contributions from major business sponsors included ARISTA Industries, Atlantic Residential Mortgage, and Angelo Lisi & Greg Field.

Beth-El Center serves the needs of the hungry and homeless and strives to prevent and end homelessness. It serves individuals and families by providing temporary shelter and feeds up to 60 persons daily in the soup kitchen.
