After 43 years, the Tsopanides and Kalmanides families closed the doors at the Kimberly Diner at the end of the day Sunday.

The property on the Boston Post Road where the diner is located has been sold to the car dealership across the street, and the family said the diner will be knocked down for a car lot.

The family has been leasing the land and the diner. They had expected to buy it one day, but that didn’t happen.

Tim Tsopanides said he and two partners will re-open Paul’s Hamburger Stand in October, combining the two Milford favorites — Kimberly and Paul’s.
