Subway world headquarters brightens holiday for needy children
MILFORD — Subway World Headquarters has donated about $10,000 in toys to the Boys and Girls Club of Milford, Milford Family Resource Center and the Yale New Haven Hospital Toy Closet as part of its annual employee Toy Drive and Adopt-a-Family program, according to a release from the company.
“We’re proud to support our neighbors here in Milford and across Connecticut. Giving back is in the DNA of the Subway Team, and the annual Toy Drive and Adopt-a-Family program is a favorite for so many here because of the smiles it brings to so many children’s faces,” said Michele DiNello, Subway’s vice president for public relations, communications and events. “I’m constantly impressed at how big the hearts of our employees have — from hosting blood drives to fundraising for cancer awareness to working to feed those in need around Thanksgiving.”
Fifteen local families associated with Milford Family Resource Center and Boys and Girls Club of Milford are to receive new toys, clothes, electronics and more.
Additionally, the brand’s marketing department held a team bonding event during which they built 20 bicycles for Mathewson Elementary School students, who attend the Boys and Girls Club of Milford, the release said.
