Subway has 'no further comment on Jared': Cuts ties with Fogle
Subway has officially ended its relationship with Jared Fogle, after suspending the spokesman July 7, following recent news that Fogle has agreed to plead guilty to charges that he traveled across state lines to have sex with minors.
A Tuesday Facebook posting by Subway states, “We no longer have a relationship with Jared and have no further comment.”
Milford based Subway announced Tuesday, July 7 that it was suspending ties with Fogle after news that he was being investigated.
That posting said, “Subway and Jared Fogle have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation."
Recent articles published in multiple media, including People Magazine, say, “Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle has agreed to plead guilty to charges that he traveled across state lines to have sex with minors as well as possessed and distributed child pornography…”
People Magazine says that according to court documents, “Fogle will pay 14 victims $1.4 million in restitution; they also say that Fogle possessed images of child porn portraying children as young as 6 years old.”
A New York Times report says that Fogle also is expected to receive a sentence of at least five years.
