At 03:19 a.m. Friday, Milford Fire Dispatch received several 911 calls stating there was a structure fire at 81 Bird Lane.

An initial assignment of three engines, ladder and rescue companies and the shift commander were dispatched. While enroute the shift commander called for an additional alarm to be struck.

On arrival the first unit found a residential home with heavy fire showing from the rear. Water supply was established and a well coordinated aggressive interior and exterior attack began. Within 15 minutes all visible fire was knocked down. The roof was ventilated and overhaul procedures began, to extinguish hidden pockets of fire.

No injuries were reported by the three occupants or fire responders. The home is uninhabitable and the Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause.
