The Storehouse Food Pantry in Milford assembled and distributed over 850 Thanksgiving baskets filled with a turkey, stuffing, vegetables and additional trimmings to area families. “Thanksgiving is all about giving and sharing what we have with others in need,” said Joan Peret, the pantry’s director. “Our team was eager to be a blessing to so many families this year.” The baskets were distributed on Monday, Nov. 23 at Cornerstone Christian Center in Milford. The organization's clothing closet also offered clothing, shoes and books free of charge to everyone who came to pick up a basket.
The Storehouse Food Pantry provides groceries for over 50 families in Milford and from all over New Haven and Bridgeport counties each week. The pantry receives donations from the Connecticut Food Bank as well as local grocery stores and food drives.
