State's auto theft police search two Milford service stations
Yesterday the State Police Auto Theft Unit executed a series of six search and seizure warrants at automotive service centers in New Haven, Milford and Hamden. Anthony’s High Tech Auto Center at 541 New Haven Avenue and DJ’s Service Center at 16 Old Gate Lane were among those searched.
The Superior Court issued the warrants after an extensive criminal investigation, according to State Police Spokesman Paul Vance.
In addition to Anthony’s and DJ’s in Milford, agents searched Lombard Motors at 140 Gando Drive in New Haven and 61 Overlook Drive in Hamden; and Anthony's High Tech Auto Center at 142 and 156 Gando Drive, New Haven.
Officials said they searched for and seized evidence.
A number of agencies were involved in the investigation, which police are not offering too many details about. Investigating agencies include the State Police Auto Theft Investigators supported by the Milford Police Department, New Haven PD and East Shore District Manager, National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Inspectors, State Police Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force Detectives (SOCITF), State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force (SNTF), State Police Firearms Unit (SFTTF), State Police Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force(SUVCCCTF) and the Hamden Police Department.
State police said they expect to make arrests as they continue their investigation.
