Simply Dance moves from West Haven to Milford

Amanda Tosetti recently moved her dance studio, Simply Dance, from West Haven to a bigger studio at 354 Woodmont Road in the Woodmont Plaza in Milford.

Tosetti, 24, has been dancing since she was two years old. Her passion and love of dance recently earned her the 2014 Advocate Best of Award for the Best Dance Studio.

Tosetti dreamed of opening her own dance studio since she put on her first pair of tap shoes. In September of 2013 her dream came true with the opening of Simply Dance.

Tosetti was a competitive dancer for the past 16 years and then began to focus more on her students and performing, while continuing her training and dance education.

She has danced on several national teams and traveled to Disneyworld in Orlando, and to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She is also the choreographer for the Bailey Middle School Drama Club in West Haven, putting on her first performance, Mulan, this spring.

Tosetti recently graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, but dance has always been her passion.

Tosetti, along with her associate director Melanie Shea, opened Simply Dance Sept. 2, 2013 with 22 students, and within six months enrollment doubled and is continuing to grow, she said.

Simply Dance also has a competitive dance team that opened its first season with an impressive list of awards.

Simply Dance offers classes to all ages, including adults in tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, musical theatre and ariel dance and tumbling.
