School superintendent presents budget proposal to board tonight

School Supt. Dr. Elizabeth Feser will present her proposed 2015-16 school budget to the Board of Education tonight (Monday) at the January Board of Education meeting.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the school board’s conference room in the Parsons Complex.

The board will hold workshops this week to discuss the spending plan, and may vote as early as next week on whether to back the plan or suggest changes.

Tonight is the first real public step in a long budget process.

After the school board adopts a budget plan, that plan goes to the Board of Finance in February for review and then to the Board of Aldermen in April, in preparation for adopting a new city/school budget mid-May.
