Cassie Gildea scored 14 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Lauralton Hall girls’ basketball team to a 52-41 victory over Mercy in the championship game of the Mercy Classic last Thursday in Middletown.

Olivia Levey and Carly Fabrri each added 11 points for the Crusaders (6-1). Michelle DeSantis added 10 points and was named the tournament’s MVP.

Maria Weselyj (14 points) and Liz Falcigno (10 points) made the all-tournament team for the Tigers (6-1).

West Haven 63, East Haven 52: Jayva Johnson and Mackenzie Farquharson scored 19 points each to lead the host Blue Devils to their SCC interdivision win last Friday.

Rae Mattaway added 15 points for the Blue Devils (6-1).

Amanda Bradley had 16 points and Danielle Polvan added 14 for the Easties (3-3).

Platt Tech 49, Prince Tech 34: Julia Navarro scored 16 points for the host Panthers in this Constitution State Conference win last Thursday in Milford.

Alyssa Donovan added 15 points for Platt Tech (5-3).

Platt Tech 47, North Haven 31: Julia Navarro scored 16 points for the Panthers in this victory in the consolation game of the North Haven holiday tournament last Wednesday.

Alyssa Donovan added 15 points and Aaliyah Bohannon chipped in with 11.

Sarah Black scored nine points for the Indians (0-7).

Shelton 58, Law 53: Kelsey Pendagast, Lauren McCone and Brittany Lampert all scored 13 points for the host Gaelettes in the first round of the Shelton holiday tournament.

Alyssa Eannotti added nine points for Shelton (3-3).

Kim Legen scored a game-high 22 points for the Eagles.

Lauralton Hall 46, East Catholic 32: Olivia Levey had 13 points, seven assists and eight rebounds to lead the Crusaders to their non-league win at the Mercy Classic last Tuesday in Middletown.

Michelle DeSantis added nine points and three steals for the Crusaders. Nicole Ferguson led the Eagles (3-2) with 10 points.

Cheshire 46, West Haven 45: Nate Howard had a game-high 23 points for Cheshire in a SCC interdivision game last Friday in West Haven.

Kevin Adams added seven points for the Rams (3-3).

Tieron Jackson had 19 points for the Westies (1-5).

Berlin 61, Notre Dame-West Haven 42: Bob Mozzicato had a game-high 25 points for Berlin in a non-league home win. Javon Grey finished with 10 points for the Green Knights (0-6).

Stratford 57, Notre Dame-West Haven 56: Bernard Brantley had 22 points to lead the Red Devils over the Green Knights last Tuesday in the Branford Holiday Festival.

Marcus Vereen added 14 points for Stratford (2-2). Joe Bongiorni had 17 points for Notre Dame.

Hockey

West Haven 8, Amity 2: Austin Hansen had five goals and an assist to lead the Blue Devils to the win in the consolation game of the West Haven Christmas Tournament.

Goalies Forest Schell and Mike Savino combined for 24 saves for the Blue Devils (4-1).

Ryan Hauser and Adam Shea scored for the Spartans (1-3).
