A newly restored nature trail at Mondo Ponds will be dedicated Monday at Subway World Headquarters, 325 Sub Way.

Milford Mayor Ben Blake and Subway President and CEO Suzanne Greco will be among those at the dedication. The newly surfaced and wider trails are the result of a collaborative effort by the City of Milford and Subway World Headquarters.

In addition to Blake and Greco, Milford Open Space Manager Steven Johnson will speak.

Bordered by residential neighborhoods, the main campus of Subway World Headquarters, and the John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Mondo Ponds offers scenic views along its 1.1 miles of trails – perfect for the hiking enthusiast or casual stroller.

The improvement plan included widening the path, clearing brush and trees and paving the path with wood chips. The ponds are home to nearly 180 species of birds and a diverse set of wildlife.

The dedication will take place at 10 a.m. Monday.
