The Founder's Walk Committee invites the Milford public to an informational meeting on the Founder's Walk, presented by the selected architects Richter & Cegan, on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Bill Richter of Richter & Cegan will outline some initial design concepts for the park. The walkway is the site where the original settlers of Milford landed and runs from the Memorial Bridge, which bears the names of city founders, to the Hotchkiss Bridge. The Founder's Walk plan calls for replacing an abandoned road alongside Milford Harbor with a landscaped walkway that will include history kiosks, tables, a veterans memorial wall, landscaping and related environmental improvements.
The architects will also outline the process for soliciting feedback going forward. A suggestion box will be available for residents to submit their ideas for the park. Interested residents will be able to submit their contact information in order to receive email updates of future events.
