The American Red Cross is in need of volunteers to assist with local disaster response, support blood drives, help provide service to members of the military, present community disaster education programs, hold leadership roles and more.

“We have volunteer opportunities for every age and ability,” said Stephanie Boles, senior director of Volunteer Engagement for the Connecticut Chapter.

For people interested in volunteer opportunities, Boles said the Red Cross will offer monthly orientation meetings.

One will be held the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Red Cross office in Farmington, at 209 Farmington Avenue.

Another will be held the second Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Red Cross office in Farmington.

Also, a session will be held in Bethel on the second Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Red Cross office in Bethel, at 7 Parklawn Drive.
