Gym 1: Ages 5 and up; Wed 7 to 8 p.m., 01/08/14 - 02/12/14 & 02/19/14 - 03/26/14. Six week sessions, $100.

Hatha Yoga — Winter Hatha Yoga sessions for adults with instructor Dee Stephens begins on Monday, Jan. 6. The class is available to both residents and non-residents. Experience the peace and relaxation in your body through Yoga. Hatha Yoga gives one confidence, restores vitality, reduces stress, enhances flexibility and aids in weight control. It is a wonderful and soothing experience that enables you to feel good both inside and out.

The first class is offered on Monday night beginning Jan. 6 at 6 pm with a second class at 7:20 p.m. The Tuesday class begins on Jan. 7 at 6:15 pm while the final class is scheduled for Jan. 8 at 9:15 am on Wednesday mornings.

The Monday class will run 11 weeks and will cost $55 for residents and $60 for non-residents while the Tuesday and Wednesday classes will be run for 12 weeks and cost $60 for residents and $65 for non-residents. All classes will be held at Margaret Eagan Center.

Zumba Fitness — Sessions for adults with instructor Lynn Baglini beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The classes are available to residents and non-residents.

Zumba is a Latin inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements, which create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness system.

The first class is on Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm beginning on Jan. 8. The second class is on Thursday from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm and will start on Jan. 9. Both classes will be held at the Margaret Egan Center Gymnasium and run for 14 weeks. The cost for either class is $90 for residents and $95 for non-residents.

Wellness and dance — The Milford Recreation Department announces its winter Fitness & Wellness and Dance and Fun Workout sessions for adults with instructor Shelia Frankel beginning on Monday, Jan. 6. The classes are available to residents and non-residents.

The classes are for women winterested in gently sculpting and re-shaping their bodies while gaining added relaxation, stress reduction and flexibility through light stretching and toning techniques in a fun and friendly atmosphere. All specialized movements are designed to improve your overall well-being and reduce significant inches.

Dance & Fun Workout classes are geared towards dancing your way to fitness while having fun. All classes will give you a full body workout while developing the movements of a dancer. Students will learn techniques and steps as you reduce inches.

The classes will run for 11 weeks and cost $58 for residents and $63 for non-residents. The Fitness & Wellness class is offered on Monday and Thursday at 6:30 pm and Friday at 9:30 am while the Dance & Fun Workout class is available Tuesday at 6:15 pm and Friday at 10:30 am.

Cardio Core — Cardio Core Workout session for adults begins on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The class is available to residents and non-residents. Cardio Core Workout is a fun and invigorating mix of cardio, core and strength training exercises designed to burn calories, build muscle, tone and strengthen the midsection and sculpt the legs. This total body workout includes a balanced mix of aerobics, Pilates style abdominal and leg exercises that emphasis toning the core and lower body while using a stability ball. The strength training for firming arms and your upper body will use three-pound dumb bells and a five-pound weighted ball.

Bring three pound hand weights to class with you for use during the strength training/toning, a five pound weighted ball as well a 65 cm size exercise ball. The class is offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. at Tri-Beach.

Class will run for 11 weeks and cost $90 for residents and $95 for non-residents.
