Programs at Case Library

Programs at the Case Memorial Library are free, except as noted for materials charges, and open to the public. Library hours are as follows: Monday and Thursday 12-8; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 10-5; Saturday 10-4. The Library will be closed Monday, January 15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents Day.

The Bookcase: Evening Discussion Group, Feb. 8,

7 p.m.

Join The Bookcase leader Toby Zabinski for a discussion of “The Last Days of Night” by Graham Moore. Check for copies at the circulation sesk.

Rhythms of the World with Handler and Levesque: Feb. 24, 1 p.m.

Experience an exuberant celebration of cultures with this exceptional program of music from around the world. Presented by the Friends of the Library in celebration of its 25th anniversary. Registration is required and begins Feb. 3.

Book Chat Café: For Amity Middle School students who love to read and share their opinions over refreshments. Held at the Amity Middle School Media Center. Please see Ms. Liebrock to join and for more information about meeting dates and times.

3-5 Year Olds Storytime: Mondays, 4 p.m.

Enjoy storytelling, books, music, fingerplays and puppetry at this story time series especially for 3-5 year olds. A story-related craft is offered following each session. No storytime January 15 or February 19.

Lapsit Storytime: Tuesdays, 10:30 p.m.

Little ones and their caregivers are invited to this high-energy story time. The program will feature nursery rhymes, singing and moving together, plus exploring touch-and-feel books.

2-Year-Old Storytime: Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.

Audience participation is highly encouraged at this storytime session just for 2s. Enjoy books, stories, music and movement, fingerplays and puppetry together.

Saturdays, Jan. 27; to Feb. 24, 10:30 a.m.

Can a fairytale or picture book really be used to teach science? The book will be read by the group, which will then learn more about the story through re-telling it. Further learning will take place through making a scientific craft and some hands-on experiments. This story time is designed for children ages 3-5, but older siblings are welcome. Registration begins three weeks in advance of the storytime date.

Squishy Circuits with Cool-ology®, Jan. 25, 4-5 p.m. For children in grades K-6.

Are you ready to experience STEAM in action? We’ll learn all about electrical conductors and insulators. Then, using conductive and resistant play dough, participants will design and build their own electronic sculptures that light up, make sounds and more! Registration is required and begins January 4.
