Probus Club donates blankets to help homeless in Greater New Haven
Probus Club of Greater New Haven recently donated 100 survival blanket packages to Columbus House.
The small Mylar blankets are intended to help those who might be caught outside in recent frigid temperatures or can be used to cover recipients who are staying in the shelter, according to a release.
Probus has been assisting special needs individuals and groups in Greater New Haven since 1921 and the project is one of
several that members initiated to work in the community to help those in need, the release said.
Seventy-five packages also were delivered to Bethel AME Church last spring for the congregation’s efforts in sheltering the homeless. The club’s projects are shown on its Facebook page at Probus Club of Greater New Haven.
The club is seeking to have members join and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
