UPDATE: President Barack Obama’s scheduled visit to Bridgeport Wednesday has been postponed.
The president will instead convene a cabinet meeting regarding Ebola at the White House, according to multiple reports.
A scheduled trip to New Jersey has also been put off.
President Barack Obama had been scheduled to go to Bridgeport to campaign for Gov. Dannel P. Malloy today at Central High School. The political rally was to begin at 8 p.m. at the school, 1 Lincoln Blvd.
The event is free and open to the public for people who secured tickets Monday in Bridgeport.
The Connecticut Democratic Party was coordinating the event for Malloy, a Democrat who is seeking a second term. Recent polls have shown a close race between Malloy and Republican challenger Tom Foley.
