Popular 'Pirate Day' is June 8 in downtown Milford

The 10th Annual Cap’n Kidd Treasure Hunt Pirates Day will take place Sunday, June 8 in downtown Milford, from noon to 5 p.m. rain or shine.

For over 300 years, people of all ages have searched for Captain Kidd's treasure.

Join Captain Kidd and his crew as they sail into Milford Harbor, kidnap Mayor Ben Blake and "take over" downtown Milford. People are invited to come dressed as a pirate and be a part of a large scavenger hunt.

The event is presented by the Downtown Milford Business Association and sponsored by 7 Seas Restaurant and in part by WPLR 99.1 Radio.

There will be 23 treasure hunt stops with booty and clues to solve for a chance to win a treasure chest of prizes.

Raffle tickets will be sold at various events prior to June 8, for a chance to ride aboard the boat that carries “Captain Kidd” to shore.

There will be live, local bands at the gazebo on the green, and a pirate parade, starting at the gazebo at 2:30 p.m.
