Police nab alleged robber who didn't show up at court

Police arrested a Rhode Island man Sept. 27 for failing to appear in court on robbery charges.

Justin Carey, 23, of North Smithfield, R.I., is accused of failing to appear in court on Oct. 15, 2015, on charges stemming from a robbery arrest in Milford on July 26, 2015.

According to police, Carey was charged with robbery, threatening, larceny and resisting arrest  after the robbery, which took place in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. Police said Carey was charged with taking a jacket out of an unlocked vehicle and beginning to walk away with it. The owner of the jacket observed Carey with the jacket and approached him, asking for it back. Carey then allegedly pulled a knife out of his pocket and told the man he would not give it back. Police located Carey inside of Wal-Mart that day.

Arrested on a warrant this week, Carey was held on $200,000 bond.
