Police investigating fraudulent letters that contain porn

The Milford Police Department is investigating several suspicious letters being distributed in the Milford area.

Police said the letters were sent through the United States Postal Service mail. A fraudulent sender address of Home Depot is displayed on the outside of the envelopes addressed to the specific location. The letter inside contains a pornographic picture of a person and references the Home Depot company, police said.

Police are working with other agencies to identify the source of the letters. Investigators are encouraging recipients not to open them and to contact the police department.

Anyone with information regarding the letters is asked to contact Sergeant Tony Vitti of the Milford Police Special Investigations Unit at (203) 783-4771, email avitti@ci.milford.ct.us or visit milfordpd.org and report the information.
