MILFORD — Police said a youth was hospitalized with serious injuries late Friday after a speeding car drove “in a circle” in the parking lot of a local park.

Milford police said they were called to the 700 block of North Street for a crash involving a pedestrian around 10:40 p.m. Friday.

Police said the unidentified dark sedan “was reported to have entered the lower lot of Eisenhower Park at a high rate of speed.”

The car “began to drive in a circle when it struck the pedestrian who was standing in the lot with numerous other individuals,” police said in a statement Monday.

The car fled the scene, according to police. The pedestrian, who was identified as a minor but their age was not released, was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious injuries.

Milford police said the incident is under investigation.
