UPDATE: Platt Technical High School was evacuated Thursday at about 9:30 a.m. because of a bomb threat.

State police, who were in charge of the investigation, termed the threat "an unspecified threat," but Milford police said it was a bomb scare.

A preliminary investigation revealed no threat, according to Kelly Grant, State Police public information officer. School officials decided to send students home as the investigation continues, she said.

State Police K9 teams assisted state troopers in sweeping the building.

Sources say students were evacuated to the YMCA across the street before being dismissed.

Milford police assisted with traffic control, according to the state police.
