Pantochino Productions original show named ‘Best Non-Equity Musical’

BroadwayWorld awarded Milford’s Pantochino Productions with a slew of Non-Equity Theatre awards, including Best Musical for their original production Italian Wedding Soup.

Pantochino Productions took home 10 of BroadwayWorld’s Connecticut 2018 awards, which are selected based on readers’ nominations and votes from members of the theatre community. The nominated shows are those that opened between Oct. 1, 2017 and Sept. 30, 2018.

“We’re thrilled to have been recognized by BroadwayWorld and and its readers for this amazing honor,” said Bert Bernardi, co-producer of Pantochino Productions. “Italian Wedding Soup and School For Elves were both huge artistic successes — both productions were sold out entirely! This is a testament to incredible work of the actors and artists who brought these shows to life.” “BroadwayWorld is the go-to website for theatre news worldwide, and we are so grateful for the national attention these awards bring to our tiny not-for-profit and to Downtown Milford.”

Pantochino Productions were recognized for two of their productions, Italian Wedding Soup and School for Elves. Their production of Italian Wedding soup won Best Non-Equity Musical, Best Connecticut Playwright for (Bert Bernardi), Best Direction of a Non-Equity Musical (Bert Bernardi), Best Non-Equity Lighting Design (Jeff Carr), Best Original/New Work/New Adaptation, Best Non-Equity Scenic Design (Von Del Mar), Best Non-Equity Costume Design (Jimmy Johansmeyer) and Best Non-Equity Sound (Sara Brown). School for Elves won Best Ensemble Performance in a Non-Equity Musical and Best Non-Equity Musical Direction (Justin Rugg).
