Pace Electric of Milford wins Angie’s List Super Service Award
Pace Electric of Milford has earned the service industry’s Angie’s List Super Service Award, and the father and son Pace team is quite happy with the achievement.
“Only about 5% of electrical contractors in New Haven County have performed so consistently well enough to earn our Super Service Award,” said Angie’s List founder Angie Hicks in a prepared statement. “It’s a really high standard.”
Angie’s List Super Service Award winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade; the company must be in good standing with Angie’s List, pass a background check and abide by Angie’s List operational guidelines, according to an award announcement.
Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie’s List. Companies are graded on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality.
Master Electrician Peter Kaminski is the sole owner of Pace Electric Service LLC, which has been in business since 1984.
Kaminski began as an apprentice for the former Miller Electric of Milford, where he earned his journeyman license. He then took a job with the City of Milford as an electrician, and during that time he earned his master electrician’s license. He then worked for Monroe Electric of Milford, but he said he had so much side work that he started his own business, and Pace Electric was born.
“We get the question why ‘Pace’ electric quite often, said Kaminsky’s son, Peter II, the other half of this father/son business. “My father used to run 20K half marathon and triathlon races and so he thought ‘Pace’ fitting. Also ‘Peter with Pace’ has a nice ring to it.”
Peter II is currently undergoing his formal training under the direct supervision and guidance of his father. He will take his journeyman license test in 2017 after having completed 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 720 hours of in-class school instruction.
“Being a father/son operation gives us the ability to very closely control the experience the customer has with our business and that is the secret to our superior service,” said Peter II. “Examples of our concern for customer satisfaction include our very fast response time (usually the same day), and our cleanliness (we always wear shoe covers inside a customers house and we always use drop cloths and vacuum the area we work in).”
Ninety percent of Pace’s work is residential, from installing ceiling fans to complex wiring, but the company also handles industrial and commercial jobs.
The father/son team was very pleased with the Angie’s List honor.
“Angie’s List has been working very well for us,” Peter II said. “We love how easy it is for a potential customer to get in touch with us and for them to be able to read about experiences other customers have had with us. Winning the Angie’s List Super Service Award means to us that we are on the right path towards providing the best quality service and experience for our customers.”
