Representatives of the 41st Annual Milford Oyster Festival Committee and the 2015 contribution recipients met at the Milford Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 19, for a presentation of charitable funds, which totaled $19,500.

Recipients include Milford Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund in Memory of Linda Stock, Milford Arts Council Adopt-a-Mural, Friends of Milford Library, United Way of Milford Adopt-a-Family, Dept. of Human Services Energy Assistance Program, Social Learning Center of Benhaven, Rape Crisis Center of Milford, Platt Tech, Jonathan Law and Foran High Post Prom Committees, Milford Professional Firefighters Toys for Tots, Milford Prevention Council and Milford Food Bank.

Also, Milford Children's Trout Derby, Milford Animal Shelter, Literacy Center Of Milford, Milford Kids Count, Concerned Citizens for People with Disabilities, Camp Happiness-Milford Rec Dept., Bridges, St. Mary Boy Scout Troop #721, Beth-El Shelter in Memory of Kelli Goulart, Milford Hospital Young Parents Program, Boys and Girls Club of Milford, Devon Lions, Irish Heritage Society and The Fallen Heroes.

"The Oyster Festival is more than just a one-day event for Milford,” said Jay Pinto, festival president. “The committee is proud to continue to support the Milford community throughout the year."

On Saturday, Aug. 20 the Milford Oyster Festival will hold its 42nd  annual celebration from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oyster Eve, a pre-festival event, will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, from 6 to 10 p.m. For more information check the festival website,  www.milfordoysterfestival.com
