On demand: FCIAC Baseball Playoffs: No. 8 Danbury vs. No. 1 Darien
The Darien Blue Wave, who cruised through most of the FCIAC baseball regular season, face one of the few teams to give them trouble in 2016 — the Danbury Hatters — in the opening round of the FCIAC Baseball Playoffs.
You can watch the HAN Network broadcast live (or later on-demand) of the Friday, May 20, game in the video player below.
No. 1 seeded Darien (17-3, 13-3 in FCIAC) has led the league all season long. One of its three losses came to Danbury — in a game carried live on the HAN Network last month. No. 8 seeded Danbury (11-8, 9-7) has had its ups and downs but comes into the playoffs on one of those ups — after beating Staples on the last day of the regular season to sneak into the 2016 tournament. The Danbury-Staples game was carried live on HAN on Wednesday.
The other three quarterfinal games are also being played on Wednesday afternoon and Rob Adams and Co. will have updates throughout this broadcast. You can read more about the rest of the field at this link.
Friday's winners will meet in the semifinals during a doubleheader at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on Monday. You can watch the semifinals and championship live — and for free — on the HAN Network. Details are here.
On Saturday, we'll have live coverage of the FCIAC boys lacrosse quarterfinals: No. 6 Wilton at No. 3 New Canaan, which starts at 4 p.m.
