On demand: 2016 FCIAC Boys Ice Hockey Playdown, Game 2

Two of the top goalies in the FCIAC meet in the second game of the 2016 FCIAC boys ice hockey playoffs: No. 3 Fairfield and No. 6 St. Joseph. You can watch the entire playdown game below for free in streaming HD. This is the third of three live FCIAC postseason hockey games on HAN on Saturday, Feb. 27. Faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.

No. 3 Fairfield (a co-op of Ludlowe and Warde) and No. 6 St. Joseph clashed once during the regular season, with Fairfield winning, 6-3, on Jan. 25 at the Wonderland of Ice.

Fairfield goalie Mike Grace is in the midst of an outstanding season, and he collected 36 saves in that win over St. Joseph. Fairfield’s top offensive weapon opened the scoring at 5:47, and finished with one goal and three assists. Jack McCormick added two goals and three assists, while Gareth Gacetta scored twice and Kevin Boldrighini scored once.

St. Joseph also features a strong goalie in Ryan Wilson, who had five shutouts this year, including i games against top D1 teams Notre Dame-Fairfield, Notre Dame-West Haven, Greenwich, and Ridgefield. Read more about the matchup in Dave Stewart's broadcast preview.
