Nice collaboration: Library and Fine Arts host kids’ event

The Milford Arts Council and Milford Public Library will present a collaborative exhibit: The Art of Children's Book Illustrators.

The exhibit will be on display at the Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Avenue, Oct. 7 to Nov. 14, and will include published and aspiring illustrators. Art will include published pieces as well as work that shows the artistic process.

A “Meet the Illustrators” reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Center for the Arts. Illustrators and some authors will be on hand to meet with visitors and answer questions about their artwork.

In addition, some books and prints will be for sale. The family friendly reception will also include a book raffle. Winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m.

In addition Milford Arts Council and Milford Public Library will present a collaborative story time at the Center for the Arts on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at noon.

Meet at the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue, and walk to the Center for the Arts for a story and a craft. Bring your lunch, Milford Arts Council will provide juice boxes and cookies. Space is limited. To register, contact the Milford Public Library at 203-783-3290.

Both the Milford library and Fine Arts Council have been doing more lately to appeal to residents. This is one fine example and a great collaboration.
