The new ShopRite of Milford will open Sunday, June 5, and the first customer, a winner of a recent Kids Count of Milford auction, will get a 30-minute shopping spree in the new supermarket at 935 Boston Post Road.

The June 5 grand opening will take place at 7:45 a.m. with a ribbon cutting. As part of a fundraiser auction for Kids Count of Milford, a charity dedicated to defraying preschool costs for parents, the ShopRite of Milford donated a shopping spree and $100 ShopRite gift card to the highest bidder. The winning bidder, Missy Dubin, will be on hand Sunday to shop first at the store.

A lifelong Milford resident and special education teacher in Fairfield, Dubin will start her shopping spree in the new store at 7 a.m.

“We are thrilled to bring this new and improved ShopRite of Milford to our customers, and we are glad the first customer will be shopping in the name of a good cause,” said Harry Garafalo, whose family also operates ShopRite stores in East Haven, Stratford, West Haven and Hamden.

The current store location at 157 Cherry Street will close on Thursday, June 2 at 10 p.m. and then the new store will reopen Sunday, June 5 in the new location at 935 Boston Post Road. The new store will be open daily from 7a.m. to 11 p.m.
