The Milford Preservation Trust is sponsoring an exhibit of Native American artifacts Dec. 1 and 2 at the Minuteman House, also known as the John Downs house, at 139 North Street.

The exhibit will include ancient stone tools, Eastern Algonquian woodsplint baskets, 19th Century Plains arrows, war clubs, bows, portraits, porcupine and beadwork.

The exhibit will open on Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Dec. 2 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Minuteman House.

The exhibit will feature a full grooved axe found along the Wepawaug River several years ago on ancestral Downs property and loaned to the exhibit. The Trust is suggesting a $5 donation to help restore the house to the year 1775, the eve of the American Revolution.
