The Milford Indian boys ice hockey team went on the road and defeated Watertown/Pomperaug, 5-3, on Saturday.

Milford (3-4-0) took a 1-0 lead on Tommy Sampson’s first-period power-play goal at the 10:09 mark, with Jonathan DePascale and Brandon Argyros assisting.

Watertown/Pomperaug tied things at 1-1 early in the second period, before Brady Dennigan and Argyros scored at 2:43 and 12:12, respectively, to stake Milford to a 3-2 lead. DePascale assisted on both goals and Colin DiPisa had an assist on Dennigan’s tally.

Dennigan scored unassisted to make it 4-1 in the third, but Watertown/Pomperaug had the next two goals to close within 4-3 midway through the final period.

Milford’s Jacob Comeau scored the insurance goal unassisted with an empty netter at 14:54.

Sean Rowland stopped 21 shots by Watertown/Pomperaug (3-5).
