The Milford Recreation Department announced that the renovation of the skate park at Washington Field began today, Tuesday, as crews from the Public Works Department started removing the old asphalt surface in preparation of the arrival of the construction team from Grindline Skateparks, Inc.
The Grindline team is scheduled to start work on Monday, April 28. The project will add approximately 4,000 square feet of concrete surface and street type elements, which will include ledges, stairs and railings. These new features will complement the bowl and other existing concrete features which were built in 2005, recreation officials said.
It is anticipated that the renovation to the surface area will be concluded prior to July 1.
The Skate Park will be closed beginning today, Tuesday, April 22, until the project is completed.
