MILFORD >> Donations are sought to send the four city students on the LEGO robotics team to the FIRST LEGO League World Championship. The event will be held April 26-29 at the America’s Center in St. Louis. Team Lightspeed is composed of students in grades 6 and 7 from the public schools’ Enrichment Program. The championship will include teams from 37 states and more than 20 countries. Only one team from Connecticut is invited, every other year.

Donations will go to the registration cost of more than $1,000 per team and competition materials. The team has received a $400 donation from the Milford Education Foundation toward the costs of the event. This is the team’s second year participating in the FIRST Lego League. This season, the team has earned several awards. A fundraising page has been set up to help the team: https://www.gofundme.com/first-Lego- league-team- Lightspeed.
