Milford police: Man bit officer during arrest struggle
MILFORD >> A local man is facing charges after Milford police say he struggled with officers and bit one while being arrested at the city’s Housing Authority office on an outstanding warrant.
Michael Pelletier, 34, allegedly swung his arms and refused officers’ instructions to come with them during the Oct. 28 arrest, police spokesman Officer Joseph Dempsey said in a release.
A struggle ensued and Pelletier allegedly bit the officer on the hand. Officers were able to bring Pelletier into custody a short time later.
Pelletier, who lives on Demaio Drive, was charged with assaulting a police officers, interfering with police and breach of peace.
He was initially held in lieu of $5,000 bail. State judicial records show he has been released on a promise to appear Nov. 21 in Milford Superior Court.
It was not immediately clear whether the officer needed any medical treatment.
