Milford man charged with stabbing in Stratford

A Milford man was charged with assault on Tuesday after Stratford Police say he stabbed a man during an altercation.

Police charged Daniel Dzwonkowski, 24, with first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous instrument and tampering with evidence.

Police were called at about 9 p.m. to a fight in the area of 1621 West Broad Street where they found a man laying on the sidewalk. Police said the man had been stabbed and officers called EMS crews to respond to the man.

Police identified Dzwonkowski during their investigation. Dzwonkowski was located by Bridgeport and Stratford officers a short time later. Police said Dzwokowski and the victim were arguing over money.

Dzwonkowski was ordered held on $100,000 bond.

The victim, who police did not identify, is in serious condition.
