Milford firefighters respond to call, pitch in to finish yardwork for veteran
MILFORD >> At 11:54 a.m. on Memorial Day, May 30, firefighters responded to a person in need of medical assistance. The crew of Quint 3 rendered care to the female patient, who was transported to the hospital along with her spouse by her side.
The crew recognized that the man was wearing a T-shirt and hat that showed his service as a military veteran.
Realizing that the yardwork was incomplete, the firefighters completed the task before clearing the scene. The crew of Quint 3 was composed of Lt. A.J. Murphy, Firefighter Eric Ouellette and Firefighter Justin Edo. When asked about the assistance, Murphy responded: “We simply wanted to do something good for the veteran, so that he may return home to find the work complete, and focus the attention on his wife.”
