Milford fire marshal clerk honored
MILFORD >> Rose Colon, fire marshal clerk in the Fire Department, is the city’s Employee of the Month for February.
After a review of all of the nominations, the Selection Committee unanimously chose her as the winner for her outstanding customer service, professional and positive attitude and incredible work ethic.
Colon began her employment as the fire marshal clerk July 27, 2015. She is the first person to have direct contact with the public regarding all fire safety and fire code-related issues. She corresponds with other city offices involved in the permitting process for plans received in the fire marshal’s office. She works closely with the Building Department and the director of permitting and land use regarding all commercial building projects in the city.
Colon also assists with the fire marshal’s office’s annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Open to all fourth- and fifth- grade students in the city, the contest is a 10-month project involving coordination with the elementary schools, judging all entries and preparing the celebration for the winners of the contest.
Colon attends to each of her daily tasks in a professional and cheerful manner. She is always ready to assist her co-workers. She attends classes and seminars to improve her job skills and increase her knowledge.
